Mia, the saint
Kolton, the sinner
The Tour is the conclusion to The Stage a Phoenix Rising Novel
After the finale of The Stage, Mia comes to terms with where she’s placed in the competition. But that same night, Kolton and Mia will have to deal with bigger issues—their fear of fire and loss. Not everyone will survive, and the challenges that their relationship cause won’t end when the show is over.
Kolton has a secret about the choices made in a moment of survival. Is he willing to expose his secrets and vulnerabilities to earn Mia’s trust? Even though they can’t stay hidden forever when a celebrity’s life is fodder for the masses, he knows it could tear them apart.
In the midst of chaos and loss, Mia has to balance her love for Kolton with career. Will she sign with him, letting him be her boss with control over her future? Or will she go out on her own with a subpar record contract that makes her equal to Kolton in her own right?
With so many questions, going on tour could either make the answers clear or pull the weaknesses of their relationship to the surface. Will the wounds heal or will they tear until nothing can repair them?
When love burns so bright, is it sustainable?
Warning The Tour is written and recommended for readers aged 18+ due to adult language and situations, as well as explicit sexual content.
The Tour A Phoenix Rising Novel eBook Shelby Rebecca
A young singer and a rock star brought together by their difficult backgrounds struggle to make their relationship work while living in the public eye.I loved THE STAGE, where we meet Mia and Kolton and get an inside peek at reality television competition shows. Well the competition is now over and the couple is free to be together. Only Kolton's complicated past threatens to tear them apart before they even have a chance to get started. The trouble starts almost immediately after the events of THE STAGE and it haunts the pair over a period of months, time that includes a long stretch when Mia is away on tour.
Most of the drama centers around a decision Kolton makes under harrowing circumstances. It happens in the first chapter, but Mia (and we readers) don't find out ALL the facts until near the end of the book. On one hand, it's great that the author sticks so close to Mia's point-of-view. We really share her confusion, pain and anger as things with Kolton deteriorate and she is helpless to do anything about it. On the other hand, the build up to the big reveal leads to big expectations. Frankly, the "secret" isn't all that startling. If I were Mia, I'd be livid about being put through the wringer for it.
How harsh a wringer?
In the course of Kolton's mania to protect his secret, Mia is made into a scapegoat over and over again. The poor girl asks him reasonable questions and is treated as if she's betraying him. It's a pattern that repeats with his bodyguard and even, in a way, with the fans that attack Mia at the mall. To show you how out of hand it gets, at one point Mia is put in the wrong for defending herself in a physical attack. Sure everyone concedes that the other girl started it, but there's this weird attitude towards Mia that SHE is causing trouble for everyone...especially poor, stressed out Kolton. Somehow, she's always at fault for something, or in need of some kind of "lesson" in order to fully understand fame or where Kolton's coming from. It's frustrating, and it make me like Kolton much less than I did at the end of THE STAGE.
One has to wonder why with her looks and talent, Mia puts up with this crap treatment.
Though the form wasn't always to my taste, there's plenty of angst and emotion in this book. Also the erotic elements are really well done. With so much sex in fiction these days, it's rare to run into a fresh treatment of it. Without going into R-rated detail, let's just say that Kolton is the guru of the full-body orgasm.
To be honest, I prefer THE STAGE to THE TOUR, but this follow-up is still a strong book that deserves its five-star rating.

The Tour A Phoenix Rising Novel eBook Shelby Rebecca Reviews
4.5 Stars!
I'm so happy I didn't have to wait long after reading book one, to get to read The Tour. Shelby Rebecca did an amazing job of finishing Mia and Kolton's story, and as much as I hate to say goodbye to these characters, their ending was beautiful.
The Tour picks up right where The Stage ended and it is another whirlwind of emotions and problems for Mia and Kolton. When tragedy strikes, and Kolton pulls away, I really was worried about what the secret was that he was keeping from Mia. I didn't agree with how he didn't tell her what was going on, but at the same time, I understand that he was so scared of losing Mia that he wanted to protect her.
All Kolton asked for in The Stage was for Mia to trust him, and even though she said she did, it really did not show until this book. How much she's grown really showed in this book, as well as her ability to fully trust Kolton and love him like he loves her.
The little family that they have built in these two books becomes closer especially after everything that happened in the first few chapters. I think this is not only what Mia needed, but what Kolton needed as well. Having this "family" of people who love you, flaws and all, helped them finally move forward from their pasts and start thinking of the future.
I enjoyed watching the back and forth and the push and pull of Kolton and Mia's relationship and the chemistry between these two is absolutely amazing. Kolton was more vulnerable in The Tour than he was in The Stage, and it really made my heart hurt for him. Even if sometimes he didn't handle things the way I wished he was, he was there for Mia and truly loved her with everything she had.
I loved how their story ended, and as much as I hate to say goodbye, I can only hope one day in the future we will get more of Kolton and Mia as their story is absolutely amazing! I highly suggest this series, as Mia and Kolton's story is so different than the other rock star books out there, and their story is remarkable and needs to be read. I couldn't help but fall in love with these amazing characters!
